At the beginning of the month, Superbowl fever took over as the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons battled it out to emerge victorious. 

With an ad slot costing up to a whopping $5 million for 30 seconds, is there any real value for the brand? Huge brands including Budweiser, Mercedes-Benz, T-Mobile, Airbnb, Coca Cola and Netflix all think so...

If we compare this against regular television spots, Super Bowl ads offer great value for money. Costing the brand between 4 and 5 cents per viewer with the former costing double that at between 8 to 10 cents per viewer. 

But does this warrant spending millions on advertising? Are there more cost effective, measurable ways of reaching your target audience?
